What are Tornadoes?
Tornadoes are a very dangerous weather hazard! They can destroy houses, buildings, uproot trees, hurl cars and in the worst case they can cause death. Tornadoes are very strong and can rip apart buildings in a matter of seconds. They are most common in America and can occur more than once per year in the same place, which is highly devastating.
A Tornado is a very violent rotating cone of air which evolves from a thunderstorm and stretches to the ground. Some Tornadoes can also be much wider or skinnier such as the "Wedge" Tornado or the "Rope" Tornado. The most violent Tornadoes can build up wind speeds of up to 300 mph.
